HISTORY
In 2008 Melbourne hosted the Homeless World Cup and a conversation took place. The response led to an idea and in 2009 the formation of Reflection Outreach Incorporated Association was formed. A registered Deductible Gift Recipient charity where all donations over $2 are tax deductible.

The idea. A free mobile Laundry service to help the homeless and disadvantaged, the concept was introduced to high school students and ran as a year-long elective. Orange Sky began operations in 2014 providing free mobile laundry service to the homeless community.

2011 through to 2018 Reflection Outreach took a different direction, working in the background on ideas to combine education and community service projects.

2019 A combination of ideas helped shape and develop a vision to provide supported, semi-permanent housing for victims of domestic violence. Domestic violence and lack of affordable housing are the two biggest causes of homelessness in Australia.

FOUNDERS
David and Kate are both passionate teachers who interestingly were not high achievers as school students. They realised they were both convinced of the need to support young people to believe they were able to contribute to the world in a positive way. David and Kate both have a passion for social justice and human rights and are passionate about helping vulnerable people. They love meeting missionaries, homeless people, vulnerable people, innovators, social justice fighters and hearing their stories, helping where they can and learning from people from all walks of life. Being both highly creative they have been researching and imagining possible ways to best help young people find their purpose in life, as well as how to tackle homelessness, for a number of years. After years of researching, networking, learning and listening along with raising 5 children, they came to a more refined place in their vision of what social impact they could have...and they’re still learning.
